18%;background-size:cover;\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><i>The BridgeLine Place <\/i>is a\u00a0community-based vocational program for brain injury support that utilizes the Clubhouse model of psychosocial rehabilitation.\u00a0 <i>The BridgeLine Place<\/i> provides the opportunity for its members to learn valuable work and social skills to achieve vocational and\/or independent living goals.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workday provides opportunities for members to gain self-confidence and purpose, as well as develop a social network of peers.&nbsp;Membership in the program is lifelong and members can utilize additional services and supports available through the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Brief History<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The <i>BridgeLine<\/i> Place<\/em> operated formerly as High Street Clubhouse, a program of Virginia Neurocare Foundation from 2001 to 2014.\u00a0 In 2015, High Street Clubhouse became a program of The Bridge Line.\u00a0 A name change occurred in late 2015 to decrease public confusion on the location and better reflect the program\u2019s purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Membership Eligibility<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><i>The BridgeLine Place<\/i> welcomes any person with a documented history of brain injury and is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a resident of the City of Charlottesville, or the Counties of Albemarle, Amherst, Appomattox, Buckingham, Cumberland, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Nelson, Nottoway, Orange, or Prince Edward;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>at least 18 years old;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>independent in self-care and mobility (exception: if all other criteria are satisfied, then a personal care attendant is permitted for assistance in these two areas);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>able to participate with limited supervision;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>independent enough to administer their own medication;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>able to acquire and provide own transportation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>interested in contributing to the community;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>motivated to set and work towards personal goals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Membership is not available to those who pose a threat to the health and safety of themselves or the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\"
