Marty is an associate professor of Physical Therapy at the Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences at Mary Baldwin University. Marty earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and completed a post-doc Sports Residency from the University of Delaware.  He has been serving people with neuromuscular conditions for almost 20 years as an orthopedic & sports clinical specialist. Prior to switching careers to physical therapy, Marty earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Architecture from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. Marty is currently in the last year of his earning a Doctorate of Education in Education Leadership.  He finds his joy spending time with his wife, Tara, 2 daughters, 2 dogs, mentoring graduate students & residents, and officiating high school basketball which he has done for the past 27 years<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Kristen Heinan, MD<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Heinan is a pediatric neurologist at UVA.\u00a0 She did her residency training in Charlottesville and has resided here since.\u00a0 “I have been interested in working with people with brain injury ever since I was in elementary and middle school and able to interact with affected children at my schools. I then broadened out to volunteer work in the community.\u00a0 All of this was strengthened during my medical training and I have fortunate to work in pediatric acquired and traumatic brain injury clinics at UVA.” When not at work, she likes to go running, hiking, hang out with her Bernese Mountain dogs, Lilly and\u00a0 Leo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Jim Ames, MS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jim is a personal finance coach who helps people overcome financial frustration. He coaches individuals at all income levels and delivers workshops for various groups. He serves as Treasurer of the Charlottesville Business Exchange and President of the Bill Howard Golf for Alzheimer\u2019s tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jim had a 36-year engineering\/business career in telecommunications operations where he managed executive client relationships, delivered major outsourcing, and managed services programs around the world. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University and a Master of Science degree in Operations Research from Stanford University.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sheri is the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at CFA Institute and leads the organization\u2019s Legal, Compliance & Ethics, Governance and Professional Conduct functions.  As Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, she oversees all legal, compliance and governance matters on a global basis and serves as advisor to the CFA Institute Leadership Team and Board of Governors. She is also a member of the Corporate Governance Committee of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association. Sheri graduated from the George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a minor in Japanese. She also played soccer on the Division I women\u2019s soccer team at the George Washington University. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from Boston University School of Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her passion for supporting individuals with disabilities began more than 25 years ago when her daughter was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Ever since, she has loved, cared for and advocated on behalf of her child to live her best life and has supported her in achieving her goals. She has continued that passion in other ways by leading the ABLE@ employee resource group at CFA Institute that provides support for employees who are caregivers or themselves have a disability.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheri is blessed to have a wonderful husband, Brian, and five children. She has 3 dogs, one of which is a Canine Companions service dog, Nobbe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Joseph J. David, MD<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Dr. David is a forensic and general adult psychiatrist in Charlottesville, Virginia. He has maintained a professional interest in the identification, treatment, and rehabilitation of individuals with acquired brain injury for over forty years. He has practiced in academic, public sector, correctional, and private inpatient and outpatient settings. He provides individual diagnostic, psychotherapeutic, and psychopharmacologic services in his office practice. He has been principal investigator in some three dozen clinical trials of new psychotropic medications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Consultation and advocacy activities have included: the University of Virginia Bioethics Program, the Hospice of the Piedmont of Virginia, a local veterans organization, Innisfree Village, and the Defense\/Veterans Brain Injury Center. He previously served on the BridgeLine\u2019s first Board of Directors at the time of its creation from the merger of two precursor brain injury service organizations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He enjoys reading, food and wine, and the company of dogs in his free time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
