I began my career in 2006 as a residential counselor. From there I moved on to providing mental health/substance abuse casework in Lowell, MA and then in Oakland, CA. I also managed vocational adult day programs and have experience in criminal justice, public housing, and social services settings. I’m excited to head up the Bridge Line’s new case management service and help those with brain injuries identify and achieve their goals.
I am returning to The Bridge Line after working with Home Instead two years ago. I was also previously a Certified Nursing Assistant for 3 years working with adults with developmental disabilities. I enjoy helping others and look forward to working with all the Bridge Line clients and staff to assist integrating into our wonderful Charlottesville community.
Our 6th annual Midsummer Night’s Dream was SO MUCH FUN! The weather was perfect, the band was phenomenal, food was delicious and the company was the best.
Thank you to W.E. Brown for sponsoring the band, the Mosquito Squad for sponsoring the great food, to Travinia for donating the salads and to Relay Foods for donating a raffle prize!
It was a fabulous event. Thank you to everyone who came out. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
This year we received passes to the 2016 Charlottesville Tom Sox games! Outdoor sports are one of our favorite activities. Especially baseball! Thanks Tom Sox! Check out their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/Charlottesvillebaseball2015#

A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful volunteer Bob Shields. He has beautifully redone our Belmont house fence among many other projects! WE LOVE IT!
The fence was getting old, paint was chipping off, and some of the boards and posts were starting to rot. It was time for a makeover! We love our new fence!
What a great way to kick off the summer! THANK YOU to the wonderful Spicer family! Craig, Kendra, Darcy and Gannon were our Guest Chef volunteers this month.
They prepared delicious chicken and pasta salad, followed by sweet root beer floats. Yum!
We enjoyed getting to know everyone and shared many laughs and great stories around the dinner table.
It’s that time again! Time for our 6th annual Midsummer Night’s Dream Party! Please join us for an evening of friends, food, music by ACME Swing Mfg. Co and fun!
Date: Saturday June 25th, 2016 Time: 5:00pm – 8:00pm Where: 901 Belmont Ave Charlottesville VA 22902

At our Belmont house we have a wonderful garden, named “The Drake Friendship Garden”. At the entrance there is a memorial plaque in honor of Fred Drake, who it was named for. We had a touching unveiling ceremony in June of 2014 at our annual Midsummer Night’s Dream Party. (Click here to see the unveiling video!)
Fred’s wife, Diana, unveiling the plaque.
Fred was a wonderful and committed member of our Board, and instrumental in our fundraising efforts, i.e. grant writing and creating new connections for us in the community. He sadly passed away 4 years ago and has remained since then in our hearts and minds.
Thank you to the Darden Partners Association, Master Gardener Sandy Gallagher and Diana Drake for enriching our Fred Drake Friendship garden with their time and dedication!
Ready to plant!
One of Fred’s passions was gardening, and that inspired us to create the friendship garden. We love to spend time in the garden and it has become a great place for volunteers to come and help keep it looking beautiful.
Helping water the garden!
If you would like to be a part of maintaining and adding to the garden, feel free to email Amber Rexrode for more information at amber@thebridgeline.org.
