Our 3rd Annual Midsummer Nights Dream Party was a great success, and we thank all our guests for joining us on that lovely day and for all the generous contributions.
Perfect weather, delicious food, great music with ACME Swing Mnfg. Co., and of course our favorite motivational speaker and comedian Brett Leake ensured a fun and joyful evening.
The most touching moment of the evening was the unveiling of the memorial plaque in honor of Fred Drake. Fred was a wonderful and committed member of our Board, and instrumental in our fundraising efforts, i.e. grant writing and creating new connections for us in the community. He sadly passed away 2 years ago and has remained since then in our hearts and minds. One of Fred’s passions was gardening, and that inspired us to create The Drake Friendship Garden at the Belmont home. While we opened the garden at our Midsummer Night’s Dream event, his wife Diana unveiled the plaque that leaves him forever alive.
Many people contributed to the photos we have from that night, mainly our friend Mary Miller. Please click here to see pics of the party and the unveiling, and video of the night!
